Wildlife In Our Community
Posted on Oct 1st, 2026

Our community is fortunate to share its surroundings with a variety of wildlife. As we enjoy watching birds and other animals in our yards, we also want to make sure we are helping keep wildlife wild and our neighborhood safe.
A recent article, “Feeding Wild Birds in Washington State: Laws on Feeders, Bears and Public Parks,” highlights some important considerations for residents who use bird feeders or leave food outside. Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW) notes that bird feeders can unintentionally attract other wildlife, including bears, and recommends taking down seed, suet, and hummingbird feeders during the months when bears are active.

We encourage everyone to:
Keep bird-feeding areas clean and promptly remove spilled seed.
Avoid intentionally feeding deer or other wildlife.
Secure garbage, pet food, and other potential wildlife attractants.
Follow applicable Washington wildlife laws as well as our HOA rules.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, respectful community where both our residents and local wildlife can thrive.
